Voluntary Integration Announcement
On December 13, 2023, Ontario Health approved the voluntary integration of Crossroads Centre with St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG).
Crossroads Centre will fit seamlessly within the continuum of mental health and addiction services that SJCG offers, and we expect that full integration will be completed by March 31, 2024.
For clients of Crossroads Centre, treatment will continue without interruption.
On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of Crossroads Centre, it has been an honour to serve each and every person who has taken the courageous step of moving into recovery.
Welcome to Crossroads Centre
Crossroads Centre is an abstinence-based program that provides both pre-treatment and post-treatment services to men and women over the age of 18.
Recovery is a lifelong journey that begins after a person stops using substances. Both our pre-treatment and post-treatment programs support individuals to develop and strengthen connections and skills that reflect their personal recovery goals to live life without substances.
Inspiration and hope in early recovery are also important. In addition to group programming and one-to-one support, we promote peer connections, participation in cultural ceremony, 12-Step meetings, working with a sponsor and engaging in service work to guide and maintain recovery.
We know how difficult it can be to ask for help and visiting our website is a first step. If you are looking for information or to access services for yourself, a loved one or a friend, we are here to help.
Pre-treatment services are for individuals who are planning to attend treatment or have a confirmed treatment date. The focus is on stabilization, emotional and physical wellness, peer support, and adjusting to a structured daily routine.
After successfully completing a residential addiction treatment program, our post-treatment services support individuals to apply and build upon the skills and insights from treatment as part of daily living.
After completing core post-treatment programming, supports focus on transition planning. This includes preparing for sober living after Crossroads, coping skills, relapse prevention, connections, and supports for long-term recovery.
The City of Thunder Bay is on the traditional lands of Fort William First Nation, signatory to the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850. Crossroads Centre is committed to relationships built on respect, trust, and collaboration in the true spirit of reconciliation.
Crossroads Centre has been providing residential recovery services since 1965. We provide both pre-treatment and post-treatment services for women and men in early recovery from addiction. Each client is actively engaged in developing their service plan and individual recovery goals. Our programming is designed to support individuals to develop new coping skills, support networks and healthy lifestyles as part of their recovery.
